The Tribe
The kids are getting so big. It's hard to believe that Gabby starts kindergarten in the fall! Zack will be 3 in January and Josh will celebrate the Big #1 in September. Their laughter is infectious and their joy bubbles out of every part of their bodies. We couldn't ask for better kids. Thanks for being the loves of our lives.

Bittersweet
Today we said goodbye to Karissa. She's going to Romania to work in an orphanage for the summer. We are going to miss her so much!
Both Gabby and Zack ran down to the end of our street as she drove away and as she turned the corner, Gabby began to cry.
Karissa, you'll be missed! Learn lots, but come back to us soon. You're now a permanent part of our family!

Paving Update
of course, it rained today.
I had to walk 1/2 a mile in the rain to get to my car which had my umbrella in it.
ok, not really 1/2 a mile but in the rain it felt like it.

Inconvenience
So, on Tuesday we noticed that there were signs all over our street and surrounding streets telling us that our neighborhood streets were going to be repaved in the next few days. My question is, why do they need repaved? There are no pot holes, there are no cracks, no obvious signs of wear.
So, our street gets paved tomorrow and we can't park on our street (or in our driveways if we want to go anywhere tomorrow) between 7am and 5pm. I'm going to have to park a 1/2 a mile away just to be able to be carpool mom tomorrow. The poor kids will have to walk 1/2 a mile just to go to preschool tomorrow.
Can you tell I'm a little upset? And as I sit here, i can't go get a prime street parking spot because there is no one else here to watch my kids. So, when hubby comes home tonight at 11p, I'll get my chance to drive down to the bottom of the hill to park my car. Which will probably get broken into while parked on the street a 1/2 a mile away from my house...all because our street that is perfectly paved is getting repaved. Go figure.

Always a Mom
I've been reading the blog of a mom of 2 who just lost her baby boy at 37 weeks. According to her blog, right now, she's in induced labor at home surrounded by her family and midwife. I can't imagine the sadness, fear and dread she must be feeling. Although, she's quite a testimony of the grace of God. She seems to be so calm and secure in God's hands. I don't know if I'd be able to be that strong or trusting.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you this evening, Heather. I pray you'll feel God, holding you and Sawyer in the palm of His hand. I pray that the moment that Sawyer enters this world, you'll feel an overwhelming sense of God's power and majesty. What you see is Sawyer's shell. He is with our wonderful Savior...being loved in a perfect and glorious way. May you come to know our Lord in a more personal way during this time.

When the boys are away
The girls will play!
This past weekend was our annual "girls day out" with mom. Each year, sister and I go out with mom and she "sponsors" everything! The shopping, the lunch....anything we want to do!!!
This year, the shopping came much easier than previous years. We actually ran out of time. I think we could have done alot more damage, but the clock was ticking...and we didn't want Dad to get too upset when he saw the AMX bill!
Thank you Mom for a wonderful Saturday! You said you'd like to do it every month...can we? can we?
Mommy and Me Day
Today was Mommy and Me day at Preschool. Gabby and I had so much fun! The theme for the day was Gingham and Denim, so it ended up being all things western. We made a keychain, practiced our watermelon seed spittin', did some seat tossin', had a few sack races, and of course had to ride some horses. I think Gabby's favorite part of the day was getting to spit!
In honor of all mothers, Gabby's teacher asked some questions of each child and wrote down the kids answers. I thought they were so precious. Here is what Gabby said:
How old is your mom? 35
How much does your mom weigh? 20
What is your favorite thing to do with your mom? color
What does your mom do while you're at preschool? works on her computer
What is your mom's favorite drink? coffee
What is your mom's favorite food? cottage cheese
If you could give your mom anything, what would it be? a picture

Mo' Egg
Tonight we had scrambled eggs and sausage for dinner. I made 4 eggs and 8 sausage links. I split the eggs and sausage between Gabby and Zack, with the biggest pieces going to Zack.
Zack began gobbling up the eggs and sausage. Within 5 minutes, the eggs and sausages were gone.
Zack: I want mo' egg.
Mommy: I don't have any more eggs. You ate them all.
Zack: (with arms in the air for emphasis) Make!
Mommy: You want me to make you more eggs?
Zack: uh-huh!
Can I get anyone to start supporting my 2 year old's eating habits?
