Gabby's Garden
This weekend, Gabby and I decided we needed to "spruce up" our front yard and flower bed by our front door. So off to HomeDepot we went. This was our result. Now, Gabby has a garden.

Making Money for tasting iced tea?
Today I had my first focus group experience. I went to Laguna Beach to a place called Flavor Infusions and tasted about 10 different kinds of "healthy" iced tea. To be honest, I didn't like any of them. Not because they didn't taste good, but they were so bland. When I drink iced tea, I want to taste the tea. This tasted like very watered down iced tea and the colors of the tea didn't match the names. For example, Blueberry, Blackberry and Black tea you would expect the tea to be very dark...well, this was like water with yellow food coloring in it...or as my dad would say "pee-water".
So for 3 hours, I tasted and told them my opinion and when we were through, they handed me a check for $135! Now, that's what I call easy money!

Gabby's Thought of the day
Gabby has a friend who in true boy fashion is always trying to one-up her. She usually doesn't care, but this morning she said to me:
Gabby: Mommy, Tyler is five and a nickel. When am I going to be five and a nickel?
Mommy: Five and a nickel? Do you mean five and a quarter?
Gabby: Oh yeah, that's what I mean. Five and a quarter.

May I take your order please?
For her birthday, Gabby got a McDonalds cash register with all the McDonalds favorites: chicken nuggets, soda, fries, sundae, cookies and cheese burger. Her Auntie would be so proud. You just might be looking at the face of a McDonalds employee for the year 2019.

She's 5 Already!
Gabby turned 5 today and it's hard to imagine that my little girl is growing up so fast!
We had a Wizard of Oz theme party, complete with ruby red shoes, Glenda birthday cake and yellow brick road.
Thanks to Karissa (our wonderful nanny) for the Glenda birthday cake.
Happy Birthday Gabby. You're a joy!

A Good Game
Check out my sister's blog to play a fun game. She won't let me play because I know the answer. So the least I can do is let you in on her game. I'm so bummed she won't let me play! Check it out. She's even giving away a real prize...really.

Brownies...with spinach and carrots?
I've been wanting to try another recipe in my Deceptively Delicious cookbook, but I've been nervous to do so because who on earth ever thought of putting carrots and spinach in brownies?
So, I mixed everything up (and tried to do so quickly so the kids wouldn't see what was in the bowl)
Baked them up, and then had the kids take a taste. They were a big hit and the kids were none the wiser.
