Zack's Thoughts

This weekend we went RV-ing for the first time. Pictures of our weekend will be posted soon, but I wanted to document this little verbal exchange before I forgot it. It was just too precious.

Dave had to work on Saturday evening, so he had to leave us on Saturday afternoon to go get ready for work. He returned Sunday morning, early, around 2:00am. He'd been able to sleep about 3 hours before Zack decided to come jump on the bed. He was all over the place, unable to sit or lay still for more than 3 seconds at a time.

While he was rolling all over the bed and being extremely loud, Dave says:

Daddy: Zack, why do you have so much energy?

While Zack stopped for just a brief moment, he looked up and then like a lightbulb went off in his head he said:

Zack: I wake up, Daddy. I wake up.

Oh, if we could only have energy like that.

Gabby's Top 3

Tonight we were discussing the fact that Daddy's birthday was in 2 days and what we should do that would make his day special. We talked about making a cake for him while "the boys" slept. Then I asked her what we should buy him for his birthday. These were her top 3.

1. An animal he can sleep with
2. A new shirt
3. A new movie---a poker one

Does Gabby know her Daddy or what?

Night-Night Puppy

Gabby was fast asleep and I hear from Zack, "Mommy? Hey Mommy!"
I went into their room, and Zack was rolling around on his bed not really wanting to sleep. So I laid down beside him and started rubbing his hand and his arm and he started talking nonsense, but I just agreed with him.
Finally, it got quiet and he started to relax and all of the sudden out of nowhere, a dog started barking. Zack perked up and said:
Zack: "Mommy, I hear a puppy. Woof! Woof!"
Mommy: "Yep, that's a puppy."
Mommy: "That puppy is saying night-night to you."
Zack: "Puppy have night-night time too?"
Mommy: "Yep, puppies have night-night time too."
Zack: "Oh, ok Mommy. Night-Night puppy. Zack have night-night time too."

It's hard to believe that preschool is over! Today was Gabby's last day at Preschool. Below is a picture of Gabby on her first day, last year.
And here is a picture of her today, the last day of preschool, with her teachers Mrs. T. and Mrs. B.Our big girl is growing up and will be off to Kindergarten in September. It's hard to imagine.

Anyone Home?

I've been blogging for almost 6 months now and it's become quite fun. But, it's lonely. Does anyone even read this? Is there anyone there that cares?

Come on lurkers, please comment! Am I really just talking to cyberspace?

There's a part missing

Today Caeley came to stay with the kids for the first time. She's our summer nanny. Gabby took to her right away, hanging on her every word and suggestion of play. Zack on the other hand really wanted nothing to do with her. I could tell that he didn't understand why Karissa wasn't here. He did alot of whining and calling for Mommy. "Mommy do it", "I don't want to", "No look at me". Poor little guy, he knows there's a part missing.
Karissa, we miss you.
