My Favorite Skirt

My favorite skirt comes from a gal who's good friends with my sister. Today she's offering a 15% discount on everything on her site because she's a Leap Year baby! Type in BDAY in the voucher section.
So, if you're looking for the best, most comfortable skirt around, check out her site. I love my libby dibby--all 6 of them!

What's in that chicken?

Tonight I decided to try a recipe out of my Deceptively Delicious cookbook. Chicken Nuggets with broccoli. All I can say is YUM! Zack, who is my pickiest with meat, gobbled these up!
Thank you Jessica Seinfeld! (and thank you auntbaaa for the gift)

Scrambled Eggs

Tonight I got the kids in bed, started my wind down routine and I noticed that I heard alot of shuffling upstairs. I got up and saw that Zack was laying the hallway, playing with his Little Touch Leap Pad. I told him to get back in his bed, which he did without a fight.

About 15 minutes later, I hear shuffling again. I look upstairs and this time Zack is just laying on the floor in the hallway.

Mommy: Zack, what are you doing?
Zack: choo-choo
Mommy: Do you have a dirty diaper?
Zack: uh-huh
Mommy: Ok, let's go change your diaper.

So, I go and get the necessities for changing a diaper, get on the floor and notice that I don't smell a dirty diaper but instead notice that his stomach is growling.

Mommy: Zack, are you hungry?
Zack: I eat, I hungry.
Mommy: What do you want to eat?
Zack: gambled eggs

So, off we trot at 8:30pm (when he was in bed at 7:30p) to go make scrambled eggs. Little did his sister know that we were party-ing downstairs.

And just as a side note, he ate 3 scrambled eggs.

Does your screen need a good cleanin'?

With 3 little ones running around and constantly touching my computer screen, I'm always looking for a good screen cleaner. I finally found one:

Choo-Choos and Pony Rides

Since today was a holiday, Daddy had the day off and we decided to take the kids to Irvine Regional Park. We'd heard that the park was really nice, but little did we know how much fun we'd ALL have!
First, we rode the choo-choo, which of course made Zack very happy. Then we saw the pony rides and the kids got to ride their first pony. The pony's name was "Dan". He was very gentle and slow for their first ride.
And finally, Daddy had to take the kids on a paddle boat ride. Now, they couldn't go very far as the boat was a little heavy on one side, but needless to say, the kids had fun!

Found!

For all of those who've been following my "find a nanny" thread....I'm pleased to say, we've found her! She starts on Tuesday and the kids and I can't wait!

I had many applicants from Biola University and all of them were wonderful! If you're looking for help during the week or even just a weekend so you can have a date with your husband or a girls night out, I recommend using Biola's job posting site.

Back to Square One

Option #2 declined my nanny position today. Not that I'm completely surprised. So, as the title says, I'm back to square one.

Trying to find a Nanny

You wouldn't think it hard to find a college girl to come play with your kids a few hours a day, but let me tell you...it's really difficult!
I've posted my "nanny" job at 2 churches and 3 colleges and have only had 3 responses! My first response was a gal who was very qualified, but she told me she gets a minimum of $25/hr. I kid you not! She was of course turned down. If she makes $25/hr playing with someone's kids, I'm in the wrong business.
The second gal seems like a good prospect, although she wanted a few more $'s an hour. I compromised as best I could and I"m waiting to hear back from her.
The third gal was in highschool and was perfectly qualified, she just couldn't get here early enough to make it worth my while.
My other option is to hire a nanny service to find me a good, Christian nanny. They want a pretty penny though...1 months salary. AND they want approx. $18/hr for 3 kids. Amazing how much child care costs.
Maybe the Lord is trying to tell me that I'm not supposed to be working? Seems odd as I've got this GREAT work at home opportunity and the company is SO flexible and willing to wait for me to get this child care situation worked out. I don't know what to think about it all.

Be Mine....Valentine

The joys of crafting with your preschooler are endless. Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays to be crafty with Gabby. Her favorite colors are "pink, cherry, and purple" so it's easy to see that Valentine's Day would be one of her favorites too. Ritz Crackers dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with valentine hearts are a favorite preschool treat!

5 Months Old Already

Joshua Reid will be 5 months old tomorrow. It's sweet but also sad because we're reminded that Pappy has been gone 5 months too. Happy Birthday my dear sweet Joshua. Pappy, we miss you.

Nicknames

I've always wanted to be called Ladybug.

What's yours?

Thank you allyzabba for the lesson on links.

Big Doin's...Literally

Thanks to "Sissy", Zack went poo-poo on the potty today! It was quite the episode and I think Zack was shocked. But Gabby was quite proud of her little brother and even offered to get him his poo-poo treat. Of course, treating herself to one as well.
Good Job Zack!

The Sickies have arrived

We're all sick here. I hate it when it happens. It started out with a mild cough, but now Gabby and Zack are both hacking up a lung, the baby has green snot and I've got a horrible sore throat and a runny nose. I have no energy to pick up toys or even make a decent dinner. I'm trying so hard to get better, but I can't catch a break!

Gabby wants so badly to go to school tomorrow and I'm torn at what to do. If I was a mom who sent their healthy kid to school and heard the cough coming from my kid, I be furious that my kid was exposed...BUT on the other hand, what do you do? There is no medicine I can give her and I'm certainly not going to keep her home until it's completely better...that could be 3 weeks from now and I pay good money to send her to pre-school!

I guess we'll see how she in the morning.

Gabby's Thought of the day

Mommy: We can have scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Gabby: Or cereal with no milk
Mommy: Yep, because we're out of milk
Gabby: Mommy, can we make milk?
Mommy: No not really. I could if we had a cow.
Gabby: Well, then I guess we'll have to go to the barn.

Yep, I guess that's it. We'll make our way to the barn.

Infomercials

You know it's bad when your kid says to you, "Hey mommy, I saw this handbag that you can fit 2 bottles of water, a wallet and other stuff in it. And the screen said "call now". You know other handbags can get stolen." so you better call. You really need that.

Losing the Nanny

Ok, I know I sound like one of those really "uppity" moms, but we lost our nanny on Thursday. She'd only been with us for 4 days and she told me that she's overwhelmed with homework. What college student isn't overwhelmed the first week of school? I think the whole goal for college professors is to scare the students the first week!
So needless to say, we are AGAIN without help and I must cancel my customer appointments scheduled for next week! WHAT A BUMMER!
Anyone know of a college age girl, looking for part-time work, schedule is for her to choose. We are looking for a girl who wants a family away from home, loves kids and is willing to come be a part of ours, play with the kids, have her laundry done, free food AND get paid for it? Can't get better than that!
